Career Development and Counselling Over 50

Changing careers after 50 is not easy but it is possible. Over 50s know they have a lifetime of transferable skills and experience that can be applied in different contexts. The challenge is to convince others that those skills and experience are just what they need. To make a successful transition it is important to realize that you are marketing a product and that product is YOU. We Are All Role Models - Small Eyes Are Watching You

When I was only about six or seven years old, the local chief of police was a bodybuilder. We lived not too far from the police station and in the summer time, I could watch him train in the backyard of the station. I was very impressed with his physique so I asked my dad to make me some dumbbells so that I could train also. Five decades later, I'm still training at least three times a week.

Growing Up Or Growing Old - Step Boldly Into Your Dreams

I recently read a story about an 87 year old woman who knew the power of pursuing her dreams. The story goes that, Rose, at the age of 87 had always wanted to get a college degree but I imagine Rose used some of the same excuses for putting off going to college that some of you use to delay doing the things you know in your heart you must do. 5 Tips to Cancel Limiting Beliefs

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." - The Buddha

How Much Damage Can Verbal Abuse Do to Your Self-Esteem?

Verbal abuse is not always the obvious loud and shouting kind, with clearly meant open mean and cruel insults being made. Verbal abuse can also be more subtle. How to Change Your Perspective and Achieve the Results You Want

The bid was too high. It was more than twice what I was prepared to pay. And boy had it felt good to anticipate being rescued - to have someone else take the responsibility and get the job done.
